Seventeen returning state qualifiers and placers, including a trio of state champions , made Saturday's 26th annual Marshall Invitational another tough test for Mexico High School wrestlers. Sean Lamberson's first-place finish at 145 pounds and a second by Kyle Wilkerson at 130 highlighted the Bulldogs' first action of 1999. Randy Haerer, Jason Watson, Joey Raboin and Clifford Clayton all came in third for Mexico, sixth in the seven-team field.

NEWS I wanna take timeout to say R.I.P. to my boy Sean "Lambo" Lamberson who died Monday, September 26th. You couldn't ask for a better friend. He was a hard worker and everything he did, he did it to better his family. He left behind his wife and his daughter and I want everybody to pray for them so they can have the strength to carry on. I'm gonna miss you homie, I'll see you when I get there! Close
In Honor and memory of Sean Lamberson we will present the "Lambo Award" to today's most valuable wrestler at the conclusion of the tournament. Sean was a 2001 graduate of Mexico High School and an active student/athlete. He participated in wrestling and track where he was a district champion in the 800 meter run as well as a member of the 4x100, 4x400, and 4x800 meter district champion relay teams. Even more notable were his accomplishments in wrestling where he had a career varsity record of 134-38. He is one of only 4 wrestlers in Mexico history to have 100 wins and holds the single season record with 39 wins. He was a four-letter winner, 3-time NCMC champion, 4-time all distrist, 2-time all-sectional and state qualifier. He placed second in the state in 2000 and capped off his career by winning the state championship at 152 pounds in 2001 with a perfect 39-0 record. Sean's biggest assets were his heart and determination. We wish each wrestler and team here today the best of luck and to wrestle with the passion that Sean wrestled with and to have fun.
You have been in my thoughts and prayers all week and on Sean's angel date. I have downloaded a special song for you by Randy Travis, called "Angels" It tells of the love only a mother knows for her child. It is really beautiful and I hope that you like it. Much love to you and all your family as your memories of Sean flood your mind. I will pray that you will find peace and comfort knowing Sean is with Jesus. I love you my friend. Only a phone call away. Here are the lyrics below.
Love to all

"Angels" by Randy Travis
Me and some of the boys were sitting around the other night Started talking about politics, religion, love and life And what a shame it was about 9/11 And what about hell and what about heaven And is there or isn't there angels on earth And then one guy said Well you can take that for what it's worth If it's something I can see or something I can touch Well I might believe in all that stuff So I just had to say to him
Are you telling me that you've never seen an angel? Never felt the presence of one standing by? No robe of white No halo in site Well you missed the most obvious thing Man, are you blind? Just look in your mothers eyes
And then I said who went through the pain And smiled through the tears on the day of your birth? She counted your fingers and toes and thank god you were whole Son you outta know who loved you first, that's right And who always came running everytime you cried out And how many more things have you forgotten about And who tried their best to teach you wrong from right And how many nights did she leave on the light While she waited and prayed that you came in And who'd be there for you right up to the end Think about it tonight
Are you telling me that you've never seen an angel? Never felt the presence of one standing by? No robe of white No halo in site Well you missed the most obvious thing Aww Man, are you blind? Just look in your mothers eyes
Aww Man, are you blind? Just look in your mothers eyes That's right
Our hearts were deeply touched with your tribute and your comforting words. I also was glad to hear that some of the older wrestler from the District still keep in touch. It would warm our hearts to hear from other wrestlers. Thanks again very much.
Helias Wrestlers / Kyle And Aaron Schrimpf (Helias Wrestlers )
I never really got the chance to get to know Sean, however I always knew he was a great competitor. Aaron and I wrestled for Helias and were good friends with Kyle Wilkerson and Jason. Just recently I heard about your loss and wanted to extend our thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

A Brave Little Soul / Judy Friend To Mom The Brave Little Soul By: John Alessi
Not too long ago in Heaven there was a little soul who took wonder in observing the world. He especially enjoyed the love he saw there and often expressed this joy with God. One day however the little soul was sad, for on this day he saw suffering in the world. He approached God and sadly asked, "Why do bad things happen; why is there suffering in the world?" God paused for a moment and replied, " Little soul, do not be sad for the suffering you see, unlocks the love in people's hearts." The little soul was confused. " What do you mean, " he asked. God replied, "Have you not noticed the goodness and love that is the offspring of that suffering? Look at how people come together, drop their differences and show their love and compassion for those who suffer. All their motivations disappear and they become motivated by love alone." The little soul began to understand and listened attentively as God continued, " The suffering soul unlocks the love in people's hearts much like the sun and the rain unlock the flower within the seed. I created everyone with endless love in their heart, but unfortunately most people keep it locked up and hardly share it with anyone. They are afraid to let their love shine freely, because they are afraid of being hurt. But a suffering soul unlocks that love. I tell you this- it is the greatest miracle of all. Many souls have bravely chosen to go into the world and suffer- to unlock this love- to create this miracle for the good of all humanity."
Just then the little soul got a wonderful idea and could hardly contain himself. With his wings fluttering, bouncing up and down, the little soul excitedly replied, " I'm brave; let me go! I would like to go into the world and suffer so that I can unlock the goodness and love in people's hearts!! I want to create that miracle! God smiles and said, " You are a brave soul I know, and thus I will grant your request. But even though you are very brave you will not be able to do this alone. I have known since the beginning of time that you would ask for this and so I have carefully selected many souls to care for you on your journey. Those souls will help you create your miracle; however they will also share in your suffering. Two of these souls are most special and will care for you, help you and suffer along with you, far beyond the others. They have already chosen a name for you. God and the brave soul shared a smile, and then embraced.
In parting, God said, "Do not forget little soul that I will be with you always. Although you have agreed to bear the pain, you will do so through my strength. And if the time should come when you feel that you have suffered enough, just say the word, think the thought, and you will be healed." Thus at that moment the brave little soul was born into the world, and through his suffering and God's strength, he unlocked the goodness and love in people's hearts. For so many people dropped their differences and came together to show their love. Priorities became properly aligned. People gave from their hearts. Those that were always to busy found time. Many began new spiritual journeys, some regained lost faith-- many came back to God. Parents hugged their children tighter. Friends and family grew closer. Old friends got together and new friendships were made. Distant family reunited, and every family spent more time together. Everyone prayed. Peace and love reigned. It was good. The world was a better place. The miracle happened. God was pleased!
